The Founder
My name is Emilija, since growing up I've had big passion for baking. I graduated from culinary arts degree and gained experience working in professional kitchens. During that time, my obsession for matcha sparked an inspiration to create something more meaningful. I began to feel that London was missing a brand fully dedicated to matcha desserts created for those who appreciate its flavour. At the same time, it came from a personal need to express myself creatively through baking and turn that passion into something real. That’s how The Matchaholic was born : artisanal, handmade matcha desserts for those who love matcha and just can't get enough of it.
The Brand Story
As matcha became more popular across London, it was easy to find it in drinks, but much harder to find desserts where matcha was truly the focus. That gap inspired the creation of something new. What followed were months of testing, refining, and experimenting with more than ten different matcha desserts, until four stood out as clear favourites and became the signature creations. The journey began at a small food market in West London. From there, the desserts made their way into a selection of cafés across London, and are now available to order online in carefully curated boxes.
As matcha grew in popularity across London, it became easy to find drinks, but much harder to find desserts that truly focused on matcha.
What followed were months of testing, refining, and experimenting with more than ten different matcha desserts. In the end, only four stood out becoming the signature creations now used for cafés and The Matchaholic dessert box.
It all started at a small food market in West London. From there, the desserts found their way into select London cafés and are now available to order online.

Founded by a 27-year-old pastry chef, with a background in culinary arts and experience working in professional kitchens.
During that time, a growing personal obsession with matcha began to take shape into the idea of creating a brand dedicated entirely to matcha desserts. That idea eventually became The Matchaholic - artisanal, handmade matcha desserts, created for an indulgent experience, for those who share the passion for matcha.
